1. Definitions
“Client” refers to the individual or organisation making the booking.
“DJ Platon” / “The Provider” refers to the service provider delivering the DJ and event services.
“Event” refers to the date, time and venue specified in the booking confirmation.
“Agreement” refers to these Terms & Conditions.
2. Booking & Deposit
2.1 A booking is only confirmed once the Client has paid a 30% deposit of the total agreed fee. 2.2 Until the deposit is received, the date remains available for other clients. 2.3 By paying the deposit, the Client accepts these Terms & Conditions in full.
3. Balance Payment
3.1 The remaining balance must be paid no later than 7 days before the Event, unless otherwise agreed in writing. 3.2 If payment is not received by the deadline, DJ Platon reserves the right to cancel the booking and retain the deposit.
4. Cancellation Policy
4.1 Cancellations must be submitted in writing (email accepted).
4.2 The deposit may be refunded only if the cancellation is received before 33% of the total time between the booking date and the Event date has elapsed.
4.3 A fixed £50 administration fee is deducted from any eligible refund.
4.4 Cancellations received after the 33% threshold result in the deposit being fully forfeited.
4.5 If the Client cancels within 7 days of the Event, the full remaining balance becomes payable due to loss of opportunity to rebook the date.
5. Rescheduling
5.1 Rescheduling requests must be made in writing. 5.2 Rescheduling is subject to availability and is not guaranteed. 5.3 If the new date is available, the deposit is transferred without penalty. 5.4 If the new date is unavailable, the cancellation policy in Section 4 applies.
6. Force Majeure
6.1 Neither party shall be liable for failure to perform obligations due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:
extreme weather
illness or injury
power failure
national emergencies
venue closure
acts of God
6.2 In such cases, both parties will make reasonable efforts to reschedule. 6.3 If rescheduling is not possible, any payments (excluding the £50 admin fee) will be refunded.
7. Client Responsibilities
7.1 The Client must ensure:
safe and stable access to the venue
adequate space for DJ equipment
access to two standard 13A power outlets
shelter from rain, wind or extreme temperatures for outdoor events
that the venue permits amplified music and DJ equipment
7.2 The Client is responsible for obtaining any required venue permissions or licences.
8. Venue Requirements
8.1 DJ Platon reserves the right to refuse setup if conditions are unsafe or unsuitable. 8.2 If setup cannot proceed due to venue restrictions or unsafe conditions, this is treated as a Client cancellation, and no refund is issued.
9. Equipment & Technical Issues
9.1 All equipment is PAT‑tested and maintained to professional standards. 9.2 In the unlikely event of technical failure, DJ Platon will make every reasonable effort to restore service promptly. 9.3 If service cannot continue due to equipment failure caused by the Provider, a pro‑rata refund will be issued.
10. Behaviour & Conduct
10.1 Abusive, threatening or unsafe behaviour from guests or venue staff gives DJ Platon the right to stop the performance immediately. 10.2 No refunds will be issued if the performance is stopped due to unsafe or inappropriate behaviour.
11. Music Requests
11.1 The Client may submit playlists or music preferences in advance. 11.2 On‑the‑spot requests will be accommodated where possible, provided they are appropriate and available. 11.3 DJ Platon retains artistic discretion to maintain flow, safety and professionalism.
12. Photography & Media
12.1 DJ Platon may capture short video or photo clips for promotional use unless the Client requests otherwise in writing. 12.2 The Client may record or photograph the performance for personal use only.
13. Liability
13.1 DJ Platon holds full Public Liability Insurance.
13.2 The Provider is not liable for:
venue power failures
venue sound restrictions
guest misconduct
delays caused by the Client or venue
damage to property caused by guests
13.3 The Provider’s total liability shall not exceed the total amount paid by the Client.
14. Insurance & Liability Coverage
DJ Platon maintains full Public Liability Insurance and Equipment Insurance, covering accidental damage, third‑party injury, and all professional activities carried out during the Event. Proof of insurance can be provided upon request.
15. Travel & Delivery of Services
The first 30 miles of travel from the Provider’s base location (Falkirk, Scotland) are included at no additional cost. For distances beyond this radius, a travel fee of £0.50 per mile applies, calculated on a round‑trip basis.
16. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland and the United Kingdom. Any disputes shall be resolved under Scottish jurisdiction.
